We offer a variety of classes to support growth and development as a Enshin practitioner. Classes are located in the Enshin Crestone Dojo at the base of The Crestone Needle on Cottonwood Creek. This pristine 8,500 foot elevation location offers indoor and outdoor training opportunities for practitioners of all ages and abilities

For centuries this location had been used for ceremony and spiritual development and boasts natural beauty that is untamed. Enshin Crestone offers a unique opportunity for martial arts training and development in a challenging and vast landscape of elemental wisdom

Enshin Karate 

Learn the art of Enshin Karate in a cooperative and welcoming environment for new and seasoned martial arts practitioners. We offer Kids ages 6-12 and Adults 13+ Classes that explore the full contact application of Enshin Karate. The meaning of Enshin is expressed in the combination of the words “en” meaning ‘open or unfinished circle’ and “shin” meaning ‘heart’ or ‘inner.’

Enshin Philosophy teaches the practical use of energy though blind spot positioning, nuetralization and redirection out of the line of attack. We rely on the connection and support of an open hearted awareness and completion of circular movements to teach the practitioner infinite possibiliy of countering attacks and sweeps.  Mutual benefit in training and community supports practitioners learning in a way that empowers excellence in and out of the dojo. The exploration of inner nature though the art of conflict provides a sustainable path for the martial artists self development and physical excellence.

Qi Gong & Dao Yin Yoga 

Master the physical and energetic blueprint of your body though the art of Qi Gong and Dao Yin Yoga. These classes are restorative and supportive for over all health and wellbeing and provide the body with flexibility, speed and connection as well as a deepen mind body awareness. For the martial artist these skills are a powerful underpinning to longevity, restoration and healing and for the lay person an important way to stay connected and engaged in your body! These classes are open to all levels but tend to be a bit more demanding for the younger students so are traditionally taught to teenagers and adults. 

Kata 

Explore the belt specific Enshin Katas in a form specific class. Kata is the form and foundation for each belts technique and application of the art of Enshin. Traditionally kata was developed to facilitate a detailed and choreographed form of martial arts to be practiced as a refined expression of the skill sets. Kata is an art form that allows practitioners to memorize belt level technical execution including angles, responses and relaxed patterning of the expression of the forms. Kata has also been used traditional to preserve and pass on the art through time. This class is open to all levels and offers a practical set of drills and developmental growth for the serious practitioner. 

Newaza 

Newaza is our ground application study which provides students with the skill sets of basic ground fighting vocabulary including control positions, transitions and submission set ups. Children under 13 focus on foundation of ground movement and control with no submissions. Students over 13 focus in addition to foundational ground application on submissions. Newaza is rooted in judo concepts: “Ne-waza” (Ground techniques) are part of the Katame-waza (Grappling techniques) group, and they include Osae komi waza (Hold-down techniques) and Kansetsu waza (Joint locks). As the name implies, these Waza are performed on the ground, and are used to hold an opponent down and disable his movement. this class is open to all levels and provides the students with practical ground application and deep core strength and physical conditioning. 

Warrior Fitness 

This high intensity interval training and strength training class is a a fun community oriented fitness class designed to developed efficient use of energy and increased cardio respiratory capacity. We encourage all ages to come together and build community around fitness in this high paced partner centered class. Learn to quickly burn excess fat and use the bodies power in a refined way that builds stamina and strength.
